We meet weekly during the school year on Tuesdays at 7:00pm. Contact the Secretary to be added to the mailing list, where information about our current show, weekly meetings, and more are shared!

VOX History

VOX began more as an idea than an organization. It was a desire to bring musical theatre to WPI’s campus. In the spring of 2004, the WPI Vocal Performance Lab (an auditioned chamber group) undertook staging a production of Professor John Delorey’s Witchwife. It was a single performance in Riley Commons but its success spurred the planning for a larger production. Over the next year the plans would be put in place to stage a production of Stephen Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd in September of 2006. It was a success and was soon followed with productions of The Mikado, The Threepenny Opera, South Pacific, and Guys and Dolls. Starting after the close of The Mikado, a number of the veteran students, having two shows under their belt looked to have our group officially recognized as a student organization. Elections were held, officers chosen, and the next year was spent gathering signatures, creating a constitution and working with SAO to file all the necessary paperwork. On October 22, 2008 VOX was officially recognized by the Student Organization Council.
